Shopify Developer (Integrations + Custom JavaScript, Etsy Experience Preferred)

We’re looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to help build and optimize high-performing e-commerce experiences. This role is ideal for someone who knows Shopify inside and out—especially theme customization, custom JavaScript development, and building integrations with third-party platforms.

A key part of this role includes working with Etsy (and potentially other marketplaces) to create and maintain integrations, automate workflows, and ensure product, order, and inventory sync runs smoothly.

About the Role

Customize and enhance Shopify storefronts, themes, and user experiences

  • Develop and maintain custom JavaScript features (UI enhancements, dynamic content, checkout-related improvements where applicable)

  • Build integrations between Shopify and external systems (Etsy, CRMs, ERPs, fulfillment providers, shipping apps, etc.)

  • Implement and maintain API-based workflows:

    • Shopify Admin API / Storefront API

    • Etsy API (and other marketplace APIs as needed)

  • Optimize storefront performance, accessibility, and conversion

  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs across Shopify themes, apps, and integrations

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (product, design, operations) to deliver new ecommerce initiatives

  • Document technical solutions and maintain clean, scalable code

Key responsibilities

Proven experience developing for Shopify (themes and/or custom apps)

  • Strong ability to write custom JavaScript (ES6+), including DOM manipulation and event-driven UI behavior

  • Experience integrating Shopify with external services using APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)

  • Familiarity with Etsy as a selling platform (bonus if you’ve built/maintained Etsy integrations)

  • Comfort working with:

    • Shopify Liquid

    • HTML/CSS (Tailwind is a bonus)

    • JSON, Webhooks

    • Git version control

  • Strong debugging skills and the ability to work independently

Required qualifications

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Shopify Plus experience (checkout extensibility, Shopify Scripts legacy, Functions)

  • Experience with headless commerce (Hydrogen/Next.js)

  • Experience building private/custom Shopify apps

  • Familiarity with middleware/iPaaS tools (Zapier, Make, Celigo, n8n)

  • Knowledge of data syncing patterns (inventory, order, fulfillment, product catalogs)

  • Familiarity with analytics + tracking: GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel, server-side tracking
